A Kansas City man had a bathroom emergency no one saw coming after he somehow became trapped beneath the seat of a porta-potty and had to be rescued by firefighters.

The bizarre incident unfolded in Kansas City, where members of the Kansas City Fire Department were called in to free the man from the portable toilet.

Video of the rescue shows firefighters gathered around the porta-potty as they carefully used an electric saw to cut through the plastic structure. The man was stuck underneath the bowl while crews worked to get him out.

It remains unclear how he ended up in such an unusual position.

In the video, firefighters can be heard giving the trapped man instructions after they finished cutting through the unit. The man repeatedly yelled, “LISTEN!” as crews tried to guide him out.

The firefighters appeared to take their time during the rescue, carefully slicing into the plastic to avoid injuring him.

The strange ordeal reportedly ended with firefighters successfully pulling the man free. Afterward, he was given a much-needed hose-down beside the fire truck.

It was a rescue that looked more like a scene from a comedy than a real emergency.

For the man at the center of it, though, it was probably one of the worst bathroom breaks imaginable.
