A dramatic French Open victory took a frightening turn when tennis star Jakub Mensik collapsed on the clay just moments after hitting the winning shot.

Mensik had just battled through a grueling four-hour and 41-minute match against Mariano Navone at Roland Garros when his body appeared to give out in the punishing heat.

The young player lay flat on the court for more than five minutes, unable to move, as concern quickly spread through the stadium.

Navone, who had just lost the marathon match, walked over to check on his stricken opponent before paramedics arrived on court.

It was a scary scene at one of tennis’ biggest tournaments, and Mensik did not hold back afterward.

He blasted the decision to make players compete in the scorching conditions, calling it “insane” that matches were allowed to go ahead in what was described as unprecedented heat at Roland Garros.

The collapse came after an exhausting battle that pushed both men to the limit. For Mensik, the victory should have been a triumphant moment. Instead, it ended with him lying on the red clay as medical staff rushed in.

The incident immediately raised serious questions about player safety at the French Open, where athletes are often forced to endure long matches under the beating Paris sun.

Mensik’s frightening collapse made one thing clear: even elite athletes have a breaking point.

And after nearly five hours of brutal tennis in extreme heat, his body finally reached it.
