A funeral in Guyana turned into a scene of pure horror when a body suddenly fell through the bottom of a casket as stunned mourners watched in disbelief.

The shocking moment was captured on video and quickly spread online, leaving viewers horrified, confused and, in some cases, cracking dark jokes about one of the worst funeral mishaps imaginable.

The bizarre incident unfolded Sunday in the South American country as pallbearers carried a sky-blue casket toward the person’s final resting place.

At first, everything appeared normal.

The coffin had just been lifted out of the hearse, and the pallbearers were walking across a grassy bank when disaster struck.

Within moments, the bottom of the casket appeared to give way, sending the body tumbling out as mourners screamed.

Video obtained by Jam Press shows the stunned pallbearers scrambling to handle the awful situation while people nearby reacted in shock.

One man could be seen trying to direct the chaos, telling others to move the casket so it would not press down on the body even more.

The disturbing clip has since gone viral, racking up hundreds of thousands of views and sparking a flood of reactions online.

Many viewers focused their outrage on the condition of the coffin, questioning how something so unthinkable could happen during such a solemn moment.

Some commenters also took the bizarre moment in a more superstitious direction, claiming it looked like the deceased did not want to be buried.
