‘Price Is Right’ Host Drew Carey Torches TV Star Turned Politician

Drew Carey is not playing games when it comes to Spencer Pratt’s political ambitions.

The longtime Price Is Right host unleashed on the former Hills villain after Pratt jumped into the race for mayor of Los Angeles, taking aim at both the reality TV star and anyone backing his bid.

Carey, usually known for his easygoing TV charm and game-show grin, sounded anything but amused in a fiery post on Threads.

“Anyone who votes for, or endorses Spencer Prattfall for Mayor of L.A. needs to get their head out of their a–,” Carey wrote, mocking Pratt’s name while ripping into his candidacy.

And he did not stop there.

Carey said he understood that voters may be angry or fed up with the way Los Angeles is being run. But in his view, Pratt is not the answer.

“I understand being angry/unsatisfied, but at least get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass,” Carey wrote.

Then came the line that really set the internet buzzing.

“F— this guy already,” Carey added.

Pratt, best known for stirring up drama on MTV’s The Hills alongside wife Heidi Montag, is running as a Republican in an effort to unseat Democratic Mayor Karen Bass.

The former reality star has said he decided to run on the Republican side partly because of his views on crime, safety and gun rights. He has also said his support for the Second Amendment lines up more closely with conservatives.

Still, Pratt has pushed back against the idea that he is a full-on MAGA candidate.

“I do not represent a party,” Pratt told NBCLA. “I don’t have a campaign manager, I don’t have campaign consults. There’s no political party backing me.”

Pratt has also compared his outsider campaign to Barack Obama’s rise, casting himself as a political longshot with a message that could break through.

Carey clearly is not buying it.

The comedian, who took over The Price Is Right in 2007 after Bob Barker’s retirement, seemed especially furious that voters might treat the race like another reality TV spectacle.

That concern has become a familiar one in American politics, where celebrities, influencers and TV personalities have increasingly tried to turn fame into power.

Pratt’s past is also getting renewed attention as his campaign gains buzz. During the peak of The Hills fame, he openly admitted to staging tabloid stories with Montag to make money and keep their names in the press. He has also said they worked with paparazzi to manufacture attention.

But despite the backlash, Pratt’s campaign appears to be drawing serious cash.

According to the report, campaign disclosures show Pratt brought in nearly $2.7 million between April 19 and May 15. That puts him close to Bass, who reportedly raised $2.8 million since 2024.

That fundraising surge could explain why Carey sounded the alarm so loudly.

To his critics, Pratt is a reality TV chaos machine trying to turn outrage into political power.

To his supporters, he is an outsider willing to say what fed-up Los Angeles residents are thinking.

Either way, Drew Carey just made one thing painfully clear.

He wants no part of Spencer Pratt running City Hall.

  1. Already 1000% better than what the city has now. This guy actually showing up instead of being on another continent on vacation while the town burns down because of her bad decisions or in some cases NO DECISIONS! If Drew feels so bad about it, why didn’t he run?? Almost ANYTHING better than the present situation.
