President Donald Trump appeared visibly uncomfortable after UFC fighter Josh Hokit made a nasty remark about Michelle Obama during UFC Freedom 250.
New footage surfaced Monday showing Trump reacting in real time after Hokit’s now-viral moment on the White House South Lawn.
Hokit had just defeated Derrick Lewis by second-round TKO when he walked over to Trump as part of his celebration. The undefeated heavyweight placed a chain around the president’s neck, and Trump initially seemed to enjoy the moment.
He shook Hokit’s hand, smiled and gave the fighter a standing ovation.
But the mood appeared to change quickly after Hokit made his controversial comment about the former first lady.
In the clip, Trump can be seen pausing for a moment before pulling the chain off his neck. He then appeared to cringe as the crowd reacted to what had just been said.
The footage, unearthed by CNN, quickly drew attention online as viewers pointed out Trump’s awkward response.
Trump has never hidden his dislike of Barack and Michelle Obama, but even he seemed caught off guard by Hokit’s remark.
The moment added another layer of controversy to the post-fight celebration, turning what started as a friendly exchange between the president and the fighter into one of the most talked-about scenes from the event.

A rare moment of dignity
