Florida Nurse Blames McDonald’s After Killing 3 Deputies

A Florida nurse accused of killing three sheriff’s deputies in a horrifying roadside crash is now at the center of a jaw-dropping defense claim involving exhaustion, “brain fog” — and a stop at McDonald’s.

Corrinne Adrianna Blue, 32, was arrested on April 30, more than a year after the devastating November 2024 crash that left three Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputies dead on Southern Boulevard near Lion Country Safari Road.

Authorities say Blue’s SUV barreled off the roadway and slammed into the deputies while they were helping with a disabled motorcycle during a traffic enforcement operation.

The deputies killed were Corporal Luis Paez Jr., Deputy Ralph “Butch” Waller, and Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz — all remembered as respected veterans of the force whose deaths rocked the South Florida law enforcement community.

Now, the shocking case is drawing national attention because of Blue’s bizarre explanation for what happened moments before the deadly collision.

According to investigators, Blue told authorities she had just finished a grueling 12-hour overnight nursing shift at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston and was driving home to West Palm Beach. She also admitted she stopped at McDonald’s shortly before the crash.

Her legal team has reportedly pointed to “brain fog” and extreme fatigue as possible factors behind the deadly incident, raising eyebrows online after references to her McDonald’s stop surfaced in the investigation.

While “brain fog” isn’t considered an official medical diagnosis, experts say people can experience drowsiness after eating large meals — especially meals heavy in carbs and fats. The condition, known as postprandial somnolence, can leave some people feeling sluggish or mentally unfocused for a short period of time.

Still, traffic safety experts say exhaustion and sleep deprivation are far more dangerous behind the wheel than any fast-food meal.

Investigators allege Blue had likely been awake for an extended period after working overnight, a major red flag when it comes to impaired driving.

Florida Highway Patrol says Blue was driving between 80 and 86 mph in a 55 mph zone moments before the crash. Witnesses reportedly told investigators her SUV was weaving through traffic before it suddenly veered off the road and struck the deputies.

Authorities say the impact was catastrophic.

Investigators spent months reconstructing the crash using vehicle data, witness statements, and digital evidence before finally arresting Blue in April 2026.

So far, officials say there’s been no public evidence linking drugs or alcohol to the crash. Instead, prosecutors are focusing on alleged reckless speeding and fatigue-related negligence.

Blue is now facing three counts of vehicular homicide and is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail as the case moves through the Florida court system.

Meanwhile, the families of the fallen deputies continue mourning the unimaginable loss of three officers who were simply doing their jobs when tragedy struck.

  1. Bull shit, you an blame Mcdonalds for your accident lady. McDonalds wasn’t driving the car,you were.

    1. I’m wondering if she dipped into some meds at the hospital…going 85 to 86 in a 55 zone ISN’T the result of a “heavy” meal at McDonald’s…

  2. She chose to eat, McDonald’s didn’t force her to stop. She chose to drive 30 miles over the speed limit. She chose to drive when she was apparently too tired to drive. And she has the typical, low life lame defence attorneys trying to get her off with a slap on the wrist. I’m sure there will be some idiot judge who complies and gives her a slap on the wrist when she should have a life sentence, without parole, because she killed three men.
