Meghan Markle ‘Desperate’ to Return to Royal Family as Hollywood Dream Crashes

Meghan Markle may have traded palace life for Hollywood glitz, but insiders now claim the former actress is desperate to get her royal status back after a string of embarrassing setbacks.

According to royal insiders, the Duchess of Sussex has quietly realized that life outside the monarchy hasn’t exactly turned into the billion-dollar fairy tale she imagined when she and Prince Harry dramatically quit royal duties in 2020 and fled to California.

Now, after failed business ventures, underwhelming TV projects, and fading public interest, Meghan is reportedly eyeing a return to royal life — and some believe the Sussexes’ recent trip to Australia was actually a “test run” for a possible comeback.

Royal commentator Mark Dolan claimed Meghan has finally accepted that building herself into a global solo superstar just isn’t working.

“It’s my understanding that Meghan has realized that her solo projects aren’t working,” Dolan said on the Daily Expresso podcast. “The idea of Meghan as this massive independent brand has not been successful.”

The comments come after Meghan’s Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan reportedly failed to gain traction, with its second season allegedly missing the platform’s top streaming charts entirely. Insiders say the disappointing performance was a major wake-up call for the duchess.

Now, sources claim Meghan wants back into the royal fold — and back into the spotlight that comes with it.

“She wants to reconnect with King Charles and effectively become Princess Meghan again,” Dolan alleged. “That’s what Australia was about — dipping their toe back into the water.”

The Sussexes’ highly publicized visit Down Under last month sparked widespread speculation online, with critics accusing the pair of staging a “fake royal tour” complete with carefully choreographed appearances, speeches, and photo ops that looked strikingly similar to official royal engagements.

Despite years of publicly attacking the monarchy through explosive interviews, documentaries, podcasts, and Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare, Meghan has continued to show signs she still values her royal identity.

Viewers recently raised eyebrows during her Netflix series when actress Mindy Kaling casually referred to her as “Meghan Markle,” prompting the duchess to quickly correct her.

“You know I’m Sussex now,” Meghan snapped back — a moment that immediately triggered backlash online, with many critics pointing out that “Sussex” is a royal title, not a last name.

But even if Meghan wants back in, not everyone inside the palace is willing to forgive and forget.

Prince William is reportedly still furious over the damage he believes Harry and Meghan caused the royal family over the past several years. Sources say the future king has absolutely no interest in welcoming the couple back into the royal inner circle.

King Charles, meanwhile, is said to be growing increasingly emotional over the ongoing family feud. According to insiders, the monarch desperately wants peace before it’s too late and hopes to finally spend time with grandchildren Archie and Lilibet, whom he reportedly hasn’t seen in years.

“Charles wants to forgive Harry and move forward,” one insider claimed. “But William simply refuses to budge. He sees Harry and Meghan as toxic to the institution.”

The tension between the brothers reportedly remains ice cold following Harry’s repeated public attacks on the royal family, including deeply personal accusations made in interviews and in Spare, which painted William in an unflattering light.

Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry’s popularity in America appears to have cooled dramatically since their early post-royal media frenzy. Critics have accused the couple of overexposure, constant victim narratives, and trying too hard to cash in on their royal connections while simultaneously attacking the monarchy.

Now, with Hollywood doors reportedly closing and royal bridges badly burned, the Sussexes may be discovering that there’s no easy path back to the palace.
