Prince Harry is reportedly preparing for the possibility of bringing his children back to Britain — even without Meghan Markle — with insiders claiming he may fight for custody if their marriage comes to an end.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, has been living in California since 2020 with Meghan, 44, and their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 4. While the couple has built a glamorous life in Montecito, sources close to the family say Harry is growing increasingly determined to ensure his children maintain strong ties to the U.K.
“Harry still sees Britain as home and believes Archie and Lilibet deserve to have roots there,” one insider told RadarOnline. “If his marriage were to collapse, he would be extremely likely to pursue custody so he could raise them in the U.K. But it’s not just about tradition — it’s about identity.”
Another source added that Harry feels passionately about a British education and the children’s connection to their royal heritage. “He would not want to see that link severed,” the source said. “And if push came to shove, he’d be ready to fight for it in court.”
The prospect of a U.K. return has reportedly enraged Meghan, who has embraced life in California and built a secure existence for the family there. “Meghan is comfortable in California and has created a stable life,” a friend said. “Harry, however, feels unsettled. The thought of his children losing their connection to Britain weighs heavily on him, and it could become a major point of conflict if their marriage were to break down.”
Royal commentator Grant Harrold also believes it’s “very likely” Harry will want Archie and Lilibet to receive some education in the U.K., explaining that the prince would see it as a vital connection to their identity and heritage.
Adding fuel to the speculation, Sussex representatives have reportedly held private talks with Buckingham Palace officials at an exclusive London club to discuss Harry’s long-term ties to the monarchy. While palace spokespeople declined to comment, insiders suggest the talks were an early step toward thawing the icy relationship between Harry and the royal family.
If tensions between Harry and Meghan escalate, experts predict a custody battle could become one of the most high-profile royal disputes in modern history. “Harry would argue that Britain offers his children both safety and heritage,” a source familiar with royal legal matters explained. “Meghan would argue their home is in California. If it came to divorce, the stakes could hardly be higher.”
Despite the rumored rift, Harry has continued his philanthropic work through the Archewell Foundation and made several solo visits to Britain in recent years. A palace insider noted, “He clearly wants to re-establish a role back in the U.K. — and one way or another, he wants his children by his side when he does.”

Please Meghan will never allow that
Meghan is evil! Only looking out for herself. She knows what she was getting into when marrying a Royal. She thought that was her ticket to fame. Feel bad for Harry especially the kids.
