Former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin reportedly got an unwelcome surprise while filming a Christmas movie — when police showed up and hauled him off to jail.

Bevin, 58, was arrested Thursday while working as an extra on the set of a holiday film in Bourbon County, Kentucky, according to Louisville Public Media.

Instead of wrapping up a festive day on set, the former governor was taken to the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, where he was booked on a contempt of court charge.

His mug shot showed the former politician looking decidedly less than cheerful.

The arrest reportedly stems from Bevin’s ongoing divorce and child support battle with his ex-wife, Glenna Bevin.

A judge had ordered Bevin to turn over financial records as part of the case, but he allegedly failed to provide them. That prompted the judge to find him in contempt of court and issue an arrest warrant.

And it apparently wasn’t Bevin’s first warrant this year.

According to Louisville Public Media, a previous warrant was issued after Bevin failed to appear for a court hearing in May.

Bevin reportedly blamed that absence on an unusual emergency involving his vacation home in Maine, claiming a massive boulder had struck the property.

He later paid a fine, and that warrant was withdrawn.

But Bevin’s courtroom problems did not end there.

A second warrant was reportedly issued after he again failed to hand over the financial records demanded by the court.

This time, Bevin was unable to pay the required fine, leaving the warrant active.

That warrant ultimately caught up with him while he was working on the Christmas movie set.

Louisville Public Media also reported that Glenna Bevin and the couple’s son appeared in person during a July court hearing.

During that hearing, someone repeatedly attempted to join the proceedings through Zoom but was eventually removed after allegedly refusing to properly identify themselves.

Bevin served as Kentucky’s 62nd governor from 2015 to 2019.
