Hot Mic Catches News Anchor Exploding at Coworker

A longtime Detroit news anchor is making headlines for all the wrong reasons after a tense behind-the-scenes blowup with a coworker was caught on a hot mic — and the footage has now surfaced amid her bitter legal battle with her former station.

Taryn Asher, a former Fox 2 Detroit anchor, can be seen angrily confronting an off-camera colleague during what was reportedly a public service announcement recording after confusion erupted over a script.

The exchange, which reportedly happened in December 2023, quickly went from tense to explosive.

Asher was apparently trying to straighten out a problem with the script when a coworker identified as “Trace” confronted her.

“I’m in Amy’s script. The second thing didn’t make sense so I was just trying to fix that part,” Asher explained during the recorded exchange.

She said she was “still working” and claimed she “didn’t have time” to make a requested change.

But things escalated after Asher accused Trace of “walking out really angry.”

As the coworker apparently left the room and shut the door, Asher could be heard calling her a “b***h.”

“Jeez, oh Pete’s,” she added.

Moments later, a visibly frustrated Asher appeared stunned before erupting again.

“Can I please finish what I was going to say? What the f**k. Grow up,” she said.

A male coworker then approached and appeared to try to calm the situation.

But Asher wasn’t finished.

“I’m so done with her antics, telling on me every five seconds. I’m done,” she said.

The embarrassing footage has resurfaced as Asher fights her former employer in court.

According to reports, Asher was warned over the incident and was later taken off the air in November 2025. She reportedly received a letter in May confirming that her employment had been terminated.

Asher fired back in June by filing a lawsuit accusing the station of workplace gender discrimination. She later re-filed the case in July.

In the lawsuit, Asher claims male employees accused of misconduct were treated more favorably than she was.

The former anchor had already addressed her mysterious absence from television months earlier in a message to followers.

“Right now, I’m working to thoughtfully resolve a work-related matter that was unexpected, and I appreciate your patience and understanding as that process continues,” she wrote.

“I truly believe that, in time, things have a way of becoming clear.”

Asher said she had also used the time away from the station to focus on her family, including spending time with her daughter and close friends.

“Thank you for standing by me. Thank you for caring. And thank you for your continued support,” she added.

Now, with the heated hot-mic footage spreading online, Asher’s dramatic departure from Detroit television is once again under the spotlight — just as her courtroom fight with her former employer continues.
