Country star Colt Ford is counting his blessings after a frightening tour bus crash in Germany left him with a broken shoulder and forced rescuers to pull him through the shattered windshield.

The 56-year-old country rapper revealed the scary ordeal Wednesday, sharing a photo of his badly damaged tour bus sitting in a grassy ditch with its windshield smashed and the front passenger side heavily damaged.

“One minute you’re headed to Germany for a show and prepping for a single release the next thing you know your bus is in the ditch and you’re getting pulled through a windshield with a broken shoulder by first responders,” Ford wrote on Instagram.

Despite the terrifying wreck, Ford said everyone on board survived.

“The crew is a little banged up but we’re all still here,” he added.

The exact location of the crash and what caused the bus to leave the road were not immediately known.

Ford had been scheduled to perform Saturday at Tailgate X in Ballenstedt, Germany, about 100 miles west of Berlin.

News of the crash quickly brought an outpouring of support from Ford’s friends in the country music world — many of whom pointed out just how much the singer has already survived.

“While I am so relieved you’re alive, I am so sorry for all of this brother,” country singer Meghan Patrick wrote.

“You’ve had more than your share of hard times and Mitchell [Tenpenny] and I are praying for you. Here to help any way we can, love you buddy.”

Jake Owen also reacted to the frightening news.

“Glad yall are okay dude. You have endured some life. Love ya,” he wrote.

Tracy Byrd added, “Dang, brother. Glad y’all are OK, but a broken shoulder, not the break you needed. Prayers for a quick recovery, hang in there, bud.”

The accident comes just two years after Ford nearly died following a massive heart attack in Arizona.

In 2024, Ford had just finished performing at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Gilbert when he suffered a medical emergency after returning to his tour bus.

Ford later revealed that he went into cardiac arrest twice, underwent roughly 10 hours of surgery and spent eight days in a medically induced coma.

“I couldn’t have been anymore on death’s door. I died twice that day,” Ford told the Mayo Clinic in March 2025.

“When one of the top heart doctors in the world looks at you and goes, ‘You’re 1% of 1%,’ it can’t get more dire than that.”

Ford said he had no memory of performing at the venue that night. His last recollection was walking back toward the tour bus, where he was eventually found slumped over in a chair.

When he finally woke up eight days later, the singer said he was so weak he could not even lift a cup of ice to feed himself.

The brush with death pushed Ford to dramatically overhaul his lifestyle.

He changed his diet, became more active and eventually dropped more than 60 pounds.

“I’ve changed everything. If I go by Whataburger, I’ll eat a grilled chicken sandwich,” he told People in February 2025.

“I don’t do all the fries and stuff. McDonald’s used to be my s— and I loved it but I haven’t even craved it.”

Ford also credited his wife, Megan, with helping him stay active during his recovery.

“I look good and I feel good. I’m feeling like it’s my Rocky comeback moment,” he said.

Ford said surviving the heart attack gave him a new outlook on life.

“God has more for me to do. For some reason he saw fit to give me another chance, so I intend to do something positive with it.”

Now, after surviving yet another terrifying ordeal, Ford is once again facing a difficult recovery.

The Georgia native is currently scheduled to return to the United States for an Aug. 19 concert at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ford became one of country music’s best-known country-rap pioneers, helping write Jason Aldean’s massive hit “Dirt Road Anthem” while building his own career with songs including “Ride Through the Country” and “Workin’ On.”
