Ruby Rose’s summer just took a brutal turn.

The Orange Is the New Black actress has been hospitalized after a freak accident at home left her with multiple broken ribs.

Rose, 40, revealed that she was using a hose in her garden when she suddenly lost her footing and fell backward into her swimming pool. The painful wipeout was captured on her home camera, and the actress later shared the footage with fans while explaining just how badly she was hurt.

“RIP to my ribs, and the rest of my summer,” Rose wrote on social media. “They are broken, multiple. Straight to hospital, did not pass go or collect $200.”

On Threads, the Australian-born star added, “One second I’m here talking to you. Next, I’m in the hospital with two broken ribs. What a bloody Monday.”

The accident has left Rose in serious pain and facing what sounds like a long recovery. She told followers she is struggling with even basic tasks, joking that no one could pay her to put on a bra right now, let alone get up and function normally.

“I’ve just broken two ribs, falling into my own pool backwards,” she wrote. “Send good book and show recommendations. This is going to take many weeks.”

The terrifying injury also had Rose looking back on her painful past as Batwoman.

Rose questioned how she ever returned to filming the CW superhero series just one day after suffering what she described as a serious rib and neck injury on set.

“My rib was killing me!” she wrote. “I couldn’t feel my legs or hands. I was in a batsuit!”

Rose was rushed to the hospital in 2019 after a stunt injury while filming Batwoman. At the time, she said doctors initially believed she may have broken or fractured a rib, which would have meant weeks of recovery. But the injury turned out to be far more frightening.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Rose later explained that the pain was caused by two herniated discs.

“It was really, really terrifying,” she said.

The actress has since spoken openly about how deeply that experience affected her. In an interview with TV Week, Rose said the memories were so traumatic that she checked herself into a trauma facility for three months in 2021 so she could learn how to talk about what happened without fainting.

The latest accident comes after Rose made headlines earlier this year for serious allegations she posted about Katy Perry.

In April, Rose accused the pop star of sexually assaulting her at a Melbourne nightclub nearly two decades ago. Rose claimed the alleged incident happened when she was in her early 20s and said it had taken her almost 20 years to speak about it publicly.

Perry’s representative strongly denied the allegations, calling them “categorically false” and “dangerous, reckless lies.”

Rose later said she had filed a complaint with police and would no longer be able to speak publicly about the matter while it was being handled.

Now, the actress appears to be focused on recovering from her latest painful setback.

For Rose, what started as an ordinary day at home ended with a hospital trip, broken ribs, and the sudden end of her summer plans.
