A Washington, D.C. Chipotle turned into the scene of a spicy showdown when an irate customer launched a burrito bowl into an employee’s face during a heated refund dispute—and part of the messy meltdown was caught on video.
The drama began when the customer stormed behind the counter, taking food into her own hands—literally. As employees watched in disbelief, she started making her own burrito bowl. A couple of staff members attempted to intervene, but she was determined to take matters (and the guacamole) into her own hands.
When employee Roberto Hernandez tried to stop her by grabbing the bowl, she retaliated by hurling it directly into his face, sending food flying everywhere. The fiery incident unfolded after the woman reportedly demanded a refund for an Uber Eats order she claimed was incorrect. Hernandez explained she’d have to sort it out with Uber Eats, but that didn’t sit well with the furious customer.

Hernandez later told WUSA9 that the incident left him shaken. “She wouldn’t listen,” he said, describing how the woman bypassed protocol to make her own meal. Despite the chaos, the customer remained unapologetic, telling reporters she felt “right to a certain extent” but added, “I’m not saying what I did was right, but I’m not saying what I did was wrong.”
Chipotle released a statement confirming they’re working with law enforcement to ensure justice is served. The police report, obtained by TMZ, lists charges of simple assault and theft, as the customer also walked out with a second bowl of food valued at $40.

Was the order made incorrectly, or did the delivery driver for Uber Eats not give the customer the complete order?? Then, there is the fact that because of customers going ballistic, this is why many people, myself included, refuse to work in jobs that deal directly with the public.
