Trump’s Surprising Nickname for Barron Revealed

Donald Trump is famous for giving brutal nicknames to his political enemies, but a new book claims the name he uses for his youngest son is much softer than anyone expected.

According to New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, Trump has referred to Barron Trump as “honey” during private conversations.

The detail appears in their forthcoming book, Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, which offers a rare look behind the curtain at the president’s family life, White House habits, and private exchanges.

The book claims the tender moment happened after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10 last year.

Barron, now 20, reportedly called his father in a panic after hearing the news. According to the authors, Barron feared his father could also be targeted.

“Calm down, honey, calm down,” Trump reportedly told him.

The nickname quickly stands out because Trump is better known for his cutting labels for political rivals, including “Crooked Hillary,” “Sleepy Joe,” and “Crazy Nancy.”

But when it comes to Barron, the towering 6-foot-8 son he shares with Melania Trump, the former reality TV star apparently has a much gentler side.

The book also claims Trump has called Barron “little boy,” while Melania has reportedly referred to him as “little Donald.”

Barron has long remained one of the most mysterious members of the Trump family. Unlike his older siblings, he keeps a very low public profile, does not appear to have a public social media presence, and is only occasionally seen at his father’s public events.

Most recently, Barron appeared at the White House UFC event, drawing attention once again because of his height and quiet presence.

After Kirk’s death, Trump said Barron was “very hurt” by the assassination and believed the conservative activist was a “great guy.” Trump also said Barron had wanted to meet him.

Barron was born when Trump was 59, and his relationship with his youngest son has often remained far more private than his relationships with Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and Tiffany.

Eric Trump has previously said his father has also called him “honey,” suggesting the nickname may be a family habit behind closed doors.

The book includes other eye-catching claims about Trump’s private life in the White House.

According to Haberman and Swan, Trump is a late-night snacker who sometimes leaves wrappers behind and has even accidentally thrown away White House utensils.

The authors also claim Trump and first lady Melania Trump do not share the traditional master bedroom. Instead, Melania reportedly uses the primary bedroom, while Trump stays in an adjacent room labeled as the second-floor “living room” on White House maps.

The book also says Trump has continued adding his signature gold touches to the White House. At one point, the authors claim, he was seen personally installing gold adornments using super glue.

Trump has long been known for his love of gold décor, from his Manhattan penthouse to his Mar-a-Lago estate.

The Daily Beast reported that it reached out to the White House for comment on the claims.

While the book appears packed with political bombshells, one of the most surprising details may be the simplest: behind closed doors, the president who built a brand on sharp insults apparently calls his youngest son “honey.”
