Actress and former beauty queen Kimmarie Johnson, who appeared in the hit television series Beverly Hills, 90210 and the Ashton Kutcher comedy Dude, Where’s My Car?, has died at 50 following a sudden heart-related medical emergency.
Johnson died Wednesday afternoon, November 4, just over a week after suffering a frightening medical episode at her Los Angeles home, her niece, Rhonda Scott, confirmed to TMZ.
According to Scott, the actress experienced a “heart event” on October 27 and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors diagnosed her with what the family described as a “heart aneurysm condition.”
Despite receiving hospital care, Johnson’s heart stopped beating Wednesday afternoon. Her niece said she passed away peacefully.
The heartbreaking news came as a shock to those familiar with Johnson’s decades-long career, which took her from the beauty pageant stage to some of Hollywood’s most recognizable television shows and films.
A Pittsburgh native, Johnson initially worked as a flight attendant before a modeling agency helped launch her career in the entertainment industry. She went on to win the Miss Pennsylvania USA title and represented her home state at the 1993 Miss USA competition, where she reached the finals.
After moving to Los Angeles, Johnson landed a guest appearance on the enormously popular teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1998. She later appeared on V.I.P., the action-comedy series starring Pamela Anderson.
Moviegoers may also recognize her from the 2000 cult comedy Dude, Where’s My Car?, which starred Kutcher and Seann William Scott. Her additional credits included Shadow Fury, Gang Warz, Spanish Fly and Break a Leg.
Beyond acting, Johnson pursued producing and entrepreneurship, launching her own skincare business, SkinGlow by Kimmarie, in 2011. She also continued working in fashion and modeling, appearing on the August 2026 cover of Grazia Slovenia.
Her death adds another loss to the extended Beverly Hills, 90210 family, following the deaths of Luke Perry in 2019 and Shannen Doherty in 2024.
Johnson is survived by her son, Cameron Nino.
