Dolly Parton’s death has reportedly set off a bitter family battle over the country music legend’s massive $650 million fortune — with insiders claiming old grudges and long-buried family secrets are now coming back to the surface.

The “9 to 5” superstar died on August 25 at age 80 following a brief battle with cancer, just one year after the death of her longtime husband, Carl Thomas Dean, at 82.

Now, sources claim some members of Parton’s sprawling family are fighting over who gets what from the fortune she spent decades building.

One insider alleged the tension is especially intense among relatives who depended financially on Dolly over the years.

“There’s a war going on,” the source claimed, particularly involving family members who “don’t really work” and had allegedly been living off the singer.

Parton was one of 12 children and is survived by six of her siblings, along with dozens of nieces, nephews and younger relatives.

But insiders say not everyone is expected to receive a piece of the estate.

One family member reportedly left out is Dolly’s sister Freida, 69.

Sources believe the decision may trace back to years of family tension and legal disputes.

In 1989, Freida filed a workers’ compensation claim against Dollywood after reportedly injuring her back while working at the Tennessee theme park. That case was eventually settled.

Then, in 2000, Dolly and eight of her siblings went to court seeking control over their parents Robert and Avie Parton’s financial and personal affairs.

Freida and her twin brother Floyd, who died in 2018, reportedly opposed Dolly in the dispute.

Their father suffered a stroke and died only days after the lawsuit was filed. Their mother, Avie, who had been suffering from dementia, died in 2003 after the family feud was resolved.

But that was far from the only turmoil surrounding the famous Parton family.

Dolly’s brother Randy, who died in 2021 at age 67, was reportedly fired from a North Carolina theater in 2007 amid allegations that he had been too intoxicated to perform.

An investigation reportedly found that nearly $2.5 million in public money had been spent on the venue, including expenses linked to alcohol and Las Vegas trips.

Randy denied the allegations.

Another painful chapter involved Dolly’s niece, Tever, who was arrested in 2006 after allegedly assaulting her boyfriend’s mother while trying to steal an unemployment check and forge the woman’s name so she could allegedly buy drugs.

Tever died in 2017 at just 36 years old.

“Like many families, the Partons have a lot of skeletons in their closet,” one source claimed. “And they’re all coming tumbling out over the fight for Dolly’s fortune.”

Parton’s death was announced on August 25 by her nephew Brian Seaver, who paid an emotional tribute to the woman who helped change not only his life, but the lives of countless others.

He said Dolly had opened doors for her entire family and helped them discover opportunities they never imagined were possible.

He also praised her impact on generations of singers, musicians, songwriters and dreamers around the world.

“By her example, we believed that anything is possible,” Seaver said. “She never saw a door she couldn’t open.”

Parton was later laid to rest during a private ceremony in Nashville attended by immediate family members, according to her great-niece Lainey.

Lainey shared her own emotional tribute, saying she could not remember a single bad memory involving Dolly.

Because the music legend never had children of her own, Lainey said Dolly treated her nieces and nephews as though they were hers.

“She loved us that way,” she said. “And I’ll forever be grateful for that.”

In a heartbreaking twist, Dolly had spoken publicly about her future only days before her death.

The country icon insisted she still had plenty of work left to do.

“I’m still workin’! You know me,” she told People. “I still have so many things I want to achieve, so I’m gonna keep on working as long as I can to see everything come to life.”

She added that although she was still healing, she had no intention of slowing down.

Now, with the beloved superstar gone, insiders claim the battle over the empire she left behind may only be beginning.
