Prince William reportedly has no plans to play happy families with Prince Harry — even as his younger brother prepares to spend more time in Britain.

The Prince of Wales, 44, is said to be refusing to attend public engagements alongside Harry, 41, because he does not want to create the impression that their bitter family feud has suddenly been resolved.

Sources told RadarOnline.com that William remains deeply hurt by Harry and Meghan Markle, 45, following years of public attacks and revelations involving the Royal Family — particularly comments that touched on William’s wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, 44.

According to one royal source, Harry moving back to Britain would do little to repair the brothers’ damaged relationship.

“William’s position is that Harry choosing to live in Britain again does not suddenly repair their relationship, and he isn’t prepared to appear alongside him at engagements simply to create photographs suggesting otherwise,” the source claimed.

The insider said William fears that simply standing beside Harry at a royal event would immediately be interpreted as proof that the brothers had buried the hatchet.

“From William’s perspective, that would be completely false,” the source added. “Unless something changes substantially between them privately, he does not want to manufacture an image of reconciliation publicly.”

The reported hard line comes as Harry and Meghan are expected to return to the U.K. with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

The Sussex family recently reunited with King Charles III, 77, and Queen Camilla, 79, at Highgrove, according to the report.

That meeting was seen as a major sign that Harry’s relationship with his father may finally be improving after years of tension.

Charles, who has been undergoing cancer treatment, was also reportedly able to spend additional time with Archie and Lilibet during the reunion.

But when it comes to William, insiders say the wounds remain far deeper.

Harry has repeatedly said publicly that he wants to mend his relationship with his family.

“I would love reconciliation with my family,” he told the BBC last year. “There’s no point continuing to fight any more. Life is precious.”

William, however, reportedly remains angry over what he believes Harry and Meghan put Catherine and other members of the Royal Family through.

“There is still considerable anger surrounding what William believes Harry and Meghan put Catherine and the wider family through,” a royal source claimed.

The insider said William’s main concern is protecting his wife and children and that Harry simply living nearby would not mean the brothers suddenly have to resume a relationship.

“Charles can pursue his own reconciliation with his younger son, but William is not at the same place emotionally,” the source said.

The brothers’ spectacular falling-out has played out in public for years.

Harry and Meghan stepped away from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 before moving to North America.

They later sat down for their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, appeared in the Netflix documentary series “Harry & Meghan” and repeatedly discussed their experiences inside the monarchy.

Harry went even further in his bestselling memoir “Spare.”

Among its most explosive allegations, Harry claimed William physically confronted him during a heated argument.

Harry also described Camilla as “dangerous” and “the villain” and alleged that information had been leaked to the media in an effort to improve her public image.

The revelations reportedly left relations between Harry and William at rock bottom.

Now, Harry and Meghan are reportedly preparing to establish a private home in Britain rather than moving back into a royal residence.

Archie and Lilibet are also expected to attend a private school near the family’s new British base.

That could dramatically increase the chances of Harry and William crossing paths after years spent largely on opposite sides of the Atlantic.

William has meanwhile taken on an increasingly prominent role as heir to the throne, while Catherine has resumed public duties following her own cancer treatment.

Harry has also maintained close connections to Britain despite living in California, including through his work with WellChild, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and the Invictus Games.

The Invictus Games are scheduled to be held in Birmingham next year, potentially giving Harry another major reason to spend extended time in the U.K.

But royal insiders warn that anyone expecting an emotional public reunion between the once-close brothers could be disappointed.

“Harry returning creates the possibility that his and William’s paths will cross more frequently, but William isn’t going to deliberately engineer joint appearances,” one palace source claimed.

For William, according to the insider, any genuine reconciliation would have to happen privately long before the public sees the brothers smiling together again.

“Living in the same country is one thing — behaving publicly as reunited brothers is quite another.”
