Kate Middleton is reportedly making a desperate push to stop Prince William’s bitter war with Prince Harry from spiraling into an even bigger royal disaster.
With Harry preparing for a return to the U.K., the Princess of Wales is said to be urging her husband to end the years-long family feud — or at least call a truce before the brothers are forced back into each other’s orbit.
Sources claim Kate, 44, has accepted that William and Harry may never repair their once-close relationship after years of explosive accusations, tell-all interviews and public attacks.
But she reportedly believes continuing the feud could cause even more damage to the monarchy.
“Kate is the voice of reason,” an insider told royal commentator Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack.
“She knows William and Harry may never be brothers in the way they once were.”
Still, Kate reportedly wants the warring siblings to find some way to remain civil.
“They can cooperate, and they can stop feeding the story that the royal family is permanently divided,” the source added.
And insiders say Kate’s push isn’t simply about healing old wounds.
“This isn’t about forgiveness. It’s about strategy,” the source claimed.
Kate is reportedly looking ahead to the day William becomes king — and fears the endless feud with Harry could follow them straight into the next reign.
“Kate is thinking about the institution and the future, when William is King and she is Queen,” the insider said.
The source went even further, describing the princess as a calculated “chess player” who understands that every new clash with Harry and Meghan Markle only keeps the Sussexes in the headlines.
“She doesn’t need Harry to love William,” the insider said. “She needs him to stop fighting him.”
The reported intervention comes amid claims William, Kate and King Charles were blindsided by Harry and Meghan’s plans to return to Britain.
Senior royals allegedly learned of the Sussexes’ intentions only shortly before the news became public — and William was said to be furious.
Harry’s return could also create an uncomfortable new reality for the Prince of Wales: avoiding his estranged brother may suddenly become much harder.
William and Harry’s relationship has been in tatters since Harry and Meghan stepped away from royal duties in 2020 and moved to California.
The years that followed brought one bombshell after another, including the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix series and Harry’s explosive memoir Spare.
Harry publicly aired grievances involving William, Kate, King Charles and Queen Camilla, turning what had once been a private family rift into one of the biggest royal scandals in decades.
Now, former BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt says Harry’s return could dramatically raise the stakes.
“In the short term, Harry will be able to deepen his rapprochement with his father,” Hunt said.
But his return could also leave William cornered.
“His presence back home will make it harder for his brother to duck a reconciliation,” Hunt said.
He added that the unexpected development was “likely to have left William apoplectic.”
The timing of Harry and Meghan’s reported return has also sparked speculation about whether the couple is making its move before William eventually takes the throne.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams suggested the Sussexes may see King Charles’ reign as their best opportunity to rebuild ties in Britain.
“This is actually an extremely serious situation,” Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail.
He argued that Harry and Meghan may fear their options would become far more limited under King William.
Fitzwilliams even suggested William could take a hard look at the Sussexes’ royal titles — as well as those belonging to their children.
For Kate, that possibility may be exactly why she wants the family warfare brought under control now.
She reportedly knows there may be no warm reunion, no return to the old days and no complete forgiveness.
But with Harry heading back to Britain and the royal family facing the possibility of another very public showdown, Kate appears determined to prevent the brothers’ feud from exploding all over again.

My guess is H & M will spend their summers in CA & Portugal. Remaining in London only for the fall & winter. AND, I doubt Meghan will be able to even tolerate it that long. No friends, no limelight, no Hollywood glam!!!
