16-Year-Old Girl Storms Football Field and Tackles Player (Video)

A Tennessee teenager is facing charges after authorities say she ran onto a football field during a middle school game and tackled a player following a scuffle.

The incident happened Tuesday night during a game between South Middle School and Cornersville Middle School at Franklin County High School in Winchester, Tennessee.

According to WSMV, South had just scored a touchdown and extra point when a brief confrontation broke out between two players.

That is when a 16-year-old girl suddenly ran onto the field.

Video from the game appears to show the teen charging toward the South Middle School player involved in the scuffle and tackling him to the ground.

Both the player and the girl went down.

As the stunned player tried to get back to his feet, the teen allegedly shoved him back down a second time.

A person who appeared to be a coach then stepped between them and prevented the confrontation from continuing.

The girl was eventually able to walk off the field.

A school resource officer reportedly met her as she left and she was later released to her parents.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office charged the teen with assault and disorderly conduct.

Authorities have not publicly explained why she rushed onto the field or why she allegedly targeted that particular player.

The consequences did not end with the criminal charges.

The teenager was also issued a lifetime trespass ban from Franklin County Schools property.

The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association additionally banned her from attending Cornersville Middle School athletic events, both at home and away.

The player’s condition was not immediately disclosed.

The incident quickly drew attention because of how suddenly the spectator allegedly became involved in an on-field confrontation between young players.

The charges remain allegations, and the teenager has not been convicted.
