Charles Manson allegedly erupted in a terrifying rage inside a California hospital and attacked a doctor just days before his death, according to a source who described the cult leader’s chaotic final moments.

Manson, the notorious mastermind behind the horrific 1969 killings that left actress Sharon Tate, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca and several others dead, died behind bars in 2017 at the age of 83.

But even as his health rapidly deteriorated, the convicted killer was allegedly still causing trouble.

According to an insider, Manson suddenly woke up during a medical procedure at Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, California, and became “enraged.”

The source claimed Manson ripped off his medical armbands before lunging at the doctor who was attempting to treat him.

“He was clawing at his smock,” the insider said in a 2017 interview. “Guards came flooding into the room! It was a big commotion.”

The disturbing incident allegedly happened only days before Manson died.

Decades Behind Bars

Manson was convicted in 1971 on seven counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy for his role in the notorious Tate-LaBianca killings.

He was initially sentenced to death, but that punishment was later changed to life in prison after California’s death penalty was ruled unconstitutional the following year.

Manson would spend more than 40 years behind bars, moving through several California prisons and medical facilities, including San Quentin State Prison, Folsom State Prison, California State Prison–Corcoran, Pelican Bay State Prison and a medical facility in Vacaville.

By the final months of his life, Manson was reportedly suffering from colon cancer and had been hospitalized with serious gastrointestinal bleeding.

Security Remained Extremely Tight

Despite Manson’s age and failing health, authorities reportedly treated him as a serious security risk right up until the end.

One insider said security at the hospital was “extremely tight,” with guards stationed throughout the area.

“Security was posted at each end of the hallway,” the source claimed. “One guard sat at the nursing station and another outside his door.”

“Prison authorities were taking every precaution with him.”

Manson’s Bizarre Prison Habits

Manson’s strange behavior reportedly extended far beyond his hospital room.

Retired Los Angeles County prosecutor Stephen Kay previously claimed the infamous cult leader spent time behind bars making voodoo dolls of people.

“He would stick needles in them, hoping to injure the live person the doll was fashioned after,” Kay said. “He said his main activity was making those dolls.”

Another prison insider claimed Manson believed his influence would continue even after he died.

“He would make these crazy witchcraft potions with soaps and his own beard trimmings,” the source said.

Manson reportedly believed his “work” would carry on after his death.

Manson died at 8:13 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2017, at the age of 83.

Medical examiners determined that he died from cardiac arrest caused by respiratory failure and colon cancer that had spread throughout his body.

Even after his death, the controversy surrounding Manson continued.

A legal battle erupted over who had the right to claim his remains, with several people stepping forward, including his grandson, a man who claimed to be his son and a longtime pen pal.

The dispute delayed his cremation for months.

Manson was ultimately cremated in March 2018, bringing an end to the life of one of America’s most infamous convicted killers.
