Barron Trump Vanishes from Dad’s July Fourth Celebration

President Donald Trump’s youngest son was nowhere to be seen during his father’s Fourth of July celebration in Washington, D.C., as several prominent members of the Trump family also stayed away from the troubled event.

Barron Trump, 20, was not spotted at Saturday’s Great American State Fair on the National Mall, where severe weather triggered a chaotic evacuation and threw the evening’s schedule into disarray.

Trump eventually took the stage shortly after 11 p.m. and delivered a roughly 40-minute partisan speech. The lengthy delay pushed the holiday fireworks display past midnight, long after many attendees had expected the festivities to end.

Barron was not the only Trump family member missing from the celebration.

Ivanka Trump, 44, her husband, Jared Kushner, 45, and their three children also did not attend the July Fourth event. Just one day earlier, Ivanka and Jared were photographed at billionaire Michael Rubin’s famous “White Party” in the Hamptons, where they mingled with a crowd of A-list celebrities.

Barron was also absent from the Freedom 250 kickoff event in June.

The president’s youngest son did make a rare public appearance at Trump’s UFC-themed birthday event on the White House South Lawn. Before that, however, he had not been seen publicly since attending the State of the Union address in February.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment from the Daily Beast regarding Barron’s absence.

Several of Trump’s other children appeared at the fair at different points during the week. Donald Trump Jr., 48, Eric Trump, 42, and Tiffany Trump, 32, all attended in some capacity.

Even Trump’s former wife Marla Maples, who is Tiffany’s mother, made an appearance. Maples participated in the “Never Surrender USA” booth and took part in a Freedom 250 panel.

Despite the high-profile names attached to the celebration, photographs from the fair showed large patches of empty space and relatively sparse crowds.

Barron, whom his father has affectionately called “honey,” has largely avoided the spotlight surrounding the Trump family.

He has no known public social media accounts and reportedly kept mostly to himself during his freshman year at New York University. He has since moved to NYU’s Washington, D.C., campus, though little has been publicly revealed about his life there.

Some reports have claimed classmates view Barron as quiet and socially withdrawn, with unnamed peers describing him as “weird” and saying he “doesn’t talk.”

His mother, first lady Melania Trump, has remained fiercely protective of her only child with the president. She has previously said Barron, then 19, continued to require full-time supervision.

Barron has also faced scrutiny during his father’s second term over reports that he has ties to figures associated with the so-called “manosphere,” an online movement whose influencers promote what they call traditional masculinity but are frequently accused of degrading women.

Earlier this year, a woman in London claimed Barron helped save her life during an alleged domestic abuse incident. The woman referred to him as “sweetheart” and said her boyfriend had become jealous over what she described as an online relationship with the president’s son.
