A 79-year-old Florida man who allegedly believed he had the right to walk around naked has been arrested after neighbors said his behavior around their apartment complex had gone way too far.

Tyrone James Causey was arrested in Hollywood, Florida, on May 22 and charged with five counts of indecent exposure after residents at his apartment building contacted police, according to Local 10 News.

Neighbors told officers they had become “increasingly concerned and frustrated” over what they described as Causey’s repeated inappropriate behavior in common areas of the building.

When police showed up at his apartment, Causey allegedly answered the door wearing only a “G-string thong.”

Things only got stranger from there.

According to the report, Causey allegedly told police he had the “right to walk around naked” under Florida law, as long as he was not at a park.

Officer Savannah Hutcheson reportedly explained to him that walking around in public while exposing himself was illegal. But Causey allegedly pushed back, insisting he was allowed to do it and claiming he did not know he was being filmed.

The encounter then became even more bizarre, police said.

Hutcheson alleged that Causey put on lipstick in front of her and began touching himself. He then allegedly asked the officer to “jump rope for me” and called her “baby doll.”

Causey was taken into custody and booked into the Broward County jail. He has since been released.

At least five neighbors reportedly spoke with police and claimed Causey had exposed himself around the building on a regular basis. They also accused him of walking through common areas while making lewd gestures.

In one disturbing allegation, Causey was accused of “thrusting his penis” at a woman’s doorbell camera.

His recent arrest was not his first indecent exposure case. Causey was previously arrested for indecent exposure in 1987, according to the report.

The five counts from his May arrest were initially charged as felonies because of a citation connected to a police call from May 14. However, a Broward County judge found probable cause only for standard misdemeanor charges tied to the latest case.

Causey has also had other recent trouble with the law.

In March, he was arrested in the Florida Keys after allegedly leading deputies on a wild high-speed chase, according to a Facebook post from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Causey was driving a Toyota sedan when he allegedly sped through a construction zone and continued driving erratically as deputies tried to pull him over.

Police said he reached speeds of more than 100 mph and committed several other traffic violations, including tailgating other vehicles.

Causey eventually stopped and was arrested on charges of reckless driving and speeding.

It is not currently clear whether Causey has hired an attorney or entered pleas in connection with either arrest. The Hollywood Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Us Weekly.
