Ken Jennings ‘Swoons’ Over Vanna White

There’s no game show feud here.

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings gave fans a rare peek behind the scenes at Sony Pictures — and ended up melting hearts with a sweet shout-out to Wheel of Fortune icon Vanna White.

Jennings, 51, posted a playful photo on Instagram on May 17 while standing near a stairwell at the Sony lot. Behind him was a gigantic $3,500 Wheel of Fortune wedge mounted on the wall.

“When in Los Angeles, don’t miss the chance to get a photo with the world’s largest $3,500 Wheel of Fortune space,” Jennings joked in the caption.

The oversized Wheel wedge immediately caught fans’ attention, but the real moment came when one longtime viewer brought up White, who has spent more than four decades charming America on Wheel of Fortune.

“Fun! Also, a shout-out for Vanna White, who has been on the show for 43 years,” the fan wrote. “I remember the day I realized that long ago I was the same age as my kid, watching the same co-host.”

Jennings wasted no time giving White her flowers.

“Vanna is the absolute best,” he replied.

That simple line was enough to delight fans who grew up watching both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune as nightly TV staples.

For decades, the two syndicated game shows have often aired back-to-back on local stations, becoming part of the after-dinner routine in millions of American homes. And while fans sometimes compare the two shows, Jennings made it clear there is plenty of respect behind the scenes.

In fact, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune film close to each other on the Sony Pictures lot. Jennings has previously said White sometimes stops by when Wheel is not taping because she is close with his hairstylist.

Jennings has made no secret of his admiration for the longtime TV star.

“She is just the most delightful person, so sweet, unchanged by her decades of being a TV legend,” Jennings said in 2025. “She is the best.”

He has also joked about Wheel of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest, who took over the show in 2024 after Pat Sajak’s retirement.

Jennings quipped that Seacrest “frustrates” him because he is “so good at everything.”

“I’m glad he didn’t go for Jeopardy! host because he might have gotten it,” Jennings joked.

Fans loved the lighthearted crossover between two of television’s most beloved game show worlds.

“Game show recognizes game show,” one fan wrote.

“Oh, this must be why they say ‘big money,’” another joked.

A third teased, “Or is it the world’s smallest Ken Jennings?”

Jennings also revealed the giant wedge can be seen on the Sony Pictures Studio Tour. If Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! are not filming, fans may even get a chance to tour the sets — making summer a good time for game show lovers to visit, since the shows typically take a break from taping during that season.

For fans who still tune in every weeknight, the backstage moment was a reminder that the old-school game show magic is still alive — and so is the mutual admiration between the stars who keep it going.
