Teenager Flees After Killing Great-Grandmother with e-Bike (Video)

An 18-year-old e-bike rider who mowed down an 86-year-old great-grandmother on a crosswalk before fleeing the scene has been locked up for nearly seven years — and chilling video released by police is now going viral online.

Billy Stokoe, now 19, was sentenced Friday to six years and nine months behind bars after admitting to causing the death of Gloria Stephenson by dangerous driving in Sunderland, England.

The horrifying crash happened in May 2025 as Stephenson was out walking her daughter’s dog and trying to hit her daily goal of 10,000 steps — a routine loved by many older Americans trying to stay active and healthy.

But what should have been a peaceful walk turned into tragedy in seconds.

Dashcam footage released by Northumbria Police showed Stokoe speeding toward a pedestrian crossing on his e-bike without slowing down or trying to avoid the elderly woman. The violent impact sent Stephenson flying as horrified witnesses watched in disbelief.

Even more shocking, police footage later showed the teenager asking officers, “Is she dead?” after eventually turning himself in at a police station.

Authorities said Stokoe fled the scene immediately after the collision instead of stopping to help the injured grandmother.

Stephenson later died from her injuries, devastating her family and sparking outrage online after the disturbing footage surfaced.

The heartbreaking case has also reignited concerns about dangerous e-bike riding, especially involving teenagers speeding through crowded areas and ignoring traffic laws.

Many viewers reacting to the video said the footage was difficult to watch, with some calling for tougher laws and stricter enforcement surrounding high-powered electric bikes.

Stokoe will now spend years behind bars for the deadly decision that changed multiple families forever.
