What should have been the happiest day of his life turned into a nightmare no family could ever imagine.
A 22-year-old groom was brutally shot and killed while heading to his own wedding, leaving loved ones devastated and a community in shock.
Azad Bind was riding in his wedding procession on May 3 in India, surrounded by celebration and anticipation, when the unthinkable happened. Out of nowhere, a gunman reportedly pulled up on a motorcycle and opened fire—turning a joyful moment into a deadly scene.
According to police, the suspected shooter has been identified as Pradeep Bind, a relative of the bride who was allegedly furious about the marriage. Authorities say he wasn’t alone—another man, Ravi Yadav, is believed to have been with him during the attack.
The groom was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late. He died from his injuries, never making it to the altar.
Police say the attack was not entirely out of the blue. The victim’s father, Ram Lakhan Bind, revealed there had been prior violence tied to the same individuals.
“We were assaulted by them earlier as well,” he said, claiming he had previously been attacked and even suffered a broken leg during a separate incident.
That troubling history has only deepened the heartbreak—and raised questions about whether this tragedy could have been prevented.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspects, who remain on the run. Police say teams are actively working to track them down and bring them to justice.
Meanwhile, the young bride’s wedding day has turned into a day of mourning, and a family that should have been celebrating is now planning a funeral instead.
In a case that feels almost too cruel to believe, a life was cut short just as a new chapter was supposed to begin—and a wedding procession became a crime scene in an instant.
