Hollywood is reeling after the sudden death of Patrick Muldoon — the heartthrob actor known for his roles on Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place — who tragically passed away at just 57.
According to his devastated family, Muldoon suffered a fatal heart attack early Sunday morning inside his Beverly Hills home. The shocking incident unfolded shortly after he had coffee with his girlfriend and went to take a shower. When he didn’t return, she went to check on him — only to discover him unresponsive on the bathroom floor.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but it was already too late.
The loss has sent shockwaves through Hollywood, especially given how active and energized Muldoon appeared just days before his death. In a chilling final post, the actor shared excitement about his latest project, teasing fans about an upcoming film packed with A-list talent.
Muldoon rose to fame in the 1990s playing Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, quickly becoming a fan favorite before returning to the role years later. He also made waves as scheming villain Richard Hart on Melrose Place and earned cult status with his role in Starship Troopers.
And he wasn’t slowing down.
His final film, the crime thriller Dirty Hands, is set to drop later this year, while he had also been working behind the scenes producing a buzzy new project starring Chris Hemsworth and Alec Baldwin — a move that had insiders saying Muldoon was entering a powerful new chapter in Hollywood.
Tributes have already begun pouring in.
Actor Jake Getman remembered Muldoon as “a great guy” who brought light and energy wherever he went, while friends described him as magnetic, generous, and impossible to forget.
Born in San Pedro, California, Muldoon’s rise to fame came quickly after college, landing early roles on Who’s the Boss? and Saved by the Bell before becoming a household name.
Off-screen, he lived just as boldly — fronting the band The Sleeping Masses and embracing a rock-and-roll lifestyle that friends say defined his spirit.
Those closest to him say he had a rare gift: making everyone feel seen, safe, and valued. Known affectionately as “Bobo,” he is survived by his partner Miriam Rothbart and his parents.
Now, fans are left stunned — mourning a star who seemed to have so much more ahead of him.
