‘Little Rascals’ Star Arrested in Ohio

Brandon “Bug” Hall — the former child actor forever remembered as Alfalfa from the 1994 hit The Little Rascals — is back in headlines for all the wrong reasons after being arrested in Ohio in a case that’s been quietly brewing for more than a year.

According to records first obtained by TMZ, Hall, 41, was taken into custody over a failure to appear charge after he allegedly skipped a scheduled court date in December 2024. The missed hearing stemmed from a prior traffic citation issued in October 2024 for reportedly driving without liability insurance.

Authorities haven’t released many details about the arrest itself, but the situation adds to a growing list of legal troubles that have followed the former Hollywood child star into adulthood.

And this isn’t Hall’s first run-in with law enforcement.

Back in 2020, the one-time “Little Rascals” standout made headlines after being arrested in Texas under alarming circumstances. A 911 caller reported that Hall appeared to be huffing air duster behind a hotel, raising fears he may have overdosed. When police arrived, they allegedly found him inside his room surrounded by multiple cans. He was ultimately charged with misdemeanor possession of a volatile chemical for inhalation.

In recent years, Hall has taken a dramatic turn away from the spotlight — trading red carpets for a radically different lifestyle.

The actor, who now openly identifies as a “radical Catholic extremist,” reportedly walked away from Hollywood entirely and relocated his wife, Jill DeGroff, and their five children to rural Arkansas. There, he’s been attempting to live a self-sufficient life, even going so far as to take what he described as a “vow of poverty.”

In a January interview, Hall claimed he donated nearly all of his savings and material possessions in pursuit of a life free from financial dependence. At one point, his family was reportedly living out of a campervan equipped with only basic necessities like a water well and generator.

But Hall’s ambitions go even further. He’s said to be planning a fully off-the-grid homestead, complete with its own hydro-powered energy system, plumbing, and electrical setup — a far cry from the bright lights of Hollywood where he first found fame.

For now, though, the former child star is once again facing legal trouble — and a past that doesn’t seem ready to let him go quietly.
