Candace Owens’ relatives are reportedly growing increasingly worried about the outspoken podcaster’s safety as she continues publicly questioning the circumstances surrounding Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
One family member told the Daily Mail that Owens’ high-profile commentary has left loved ones fearful about what could happen to her.
“I pray every day for her safety,” the relative told the outlet. “I would like for her to get fully out of it. Don’t talk anymore. Just disappear.”
The plea comes just over a year after Kirk, the conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder, was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
Since Kirk’s death, Owens has repeatedly questioned aspects of the investigation and promoted theories surrounding the shooting and people connected to Kirk.
But there is an important distinction between Owens’ theories and what has been established in court.
Tyler Robinson, 23, has been charged with Kirk’s killing. On September 1, 2026, Utah District Judge Tony Graf ruled there was sufficient evidence for Robinson to stand trial on all seven counts against him, including aggravated murder. Robinson pleaded not guilty, and prosecutors have said they intend to seek the death penalty if he is convicted.
Owens Keeps Questioning Kirk Case
Owens began publicly raising questions about the investigation almost immediately after Kirk’s death.
In a September 16, 2025 episode of her podcast, she discussed what she called a possible “decoy” connected to the chaotic moments after the shooting and questioned portions of the official timeline. Days later, she continued examining witnesses, videos and people connected to Turning Point USA.
Her commentary has since expanded into much broader allegations about Kirk’s death.
Some of Owens’ claims have involved Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, and members of his former security operation. There has been no criminal allegation against Erika Kirk in connection with her husband’s death, and authorities have publicly pursued Robinson as the accused shooter.
The case against Robinson has also moved well beyond the initial investigative stage.
During extensive preliminary hearings, prosecutors presented video, DNA evidence and other material they say links Robinson to the shooting. Robinson’s defense has challenged portions of that evidence and disputes prosecutors’ claims about his alleged political motive.
Judge Graf ultimately ruled prosecutors had presented enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial. That ruling is not a finding of guilt, and Robinson maintains his innocence through his not-guilty plea.
Family Reportedly Fears for Owens’ Safety
According to the Daily Mail report, Owens’ relatives are not necessarily asking her to stop because they agree or disagree with what she is saying.
Their concern is reportedly more basic: her safety.
The outlet also cited a former member of Owens’ security operation who said protecting her became increasingly difficult as her public profile and controversial commentary grew.
Another report based on the Daily Mail’s interviews said Owens has taken steps intended to prevent her private address from becoming publicly available.
Owens herself has previously discussed alleged threats against her, although some of her most explosive claims about who might be behind those threats have not been independently substantiated.
That distinction matters because Owens now has an audience numbering in the millions, giving her theories enormous reach before many of the claims have been tested through court proceedings or independently verified.
Former Kirk Security Chief Sues Owens
Owens’ coverage of the Kirk assassination has already produced serious legal consequences.
Brian Harpole, who served as Kirk’s security chief, filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Owens and several other defendants on April 30, 2026.
The lawsuit alleges Owens falsely implicated Harpole in a conspiracy surrounding Kirk’s assassination.
Court records confirm the case was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee as Harpole v. Owens. Harpole’s allegations remain allegations, and no final ruling has established that Owens defamed him.
Owens has publicly rejected the accusations against her.
On the same day Harpole filed his lawsuit, Owens released an episode titled “Brian Harpole Sues Me!” in which she defended her reporting and continued raising questions about Kirk’s death.
Her attorneys have also sought dismissal of the case.
Separate Legal Fight With the Macrons
That is not Owens’ only defamation battle.
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, sued Owens in Delaware in July 2025 over claims she made about France’s first lady.
Delaware court records show that case remains on the docket. Owens has challenged the lawsuit and sought its dismissal.
The Macrons deny Owens’ allegations.
Owens’ Trip to Russia Fuels Speculation
Owens also attracted attention in June when she traveled to Russia for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Her attendance itself is not speculation.
Reuters reported before the event that Owens was among several Americans scheduled to appear at the major Russian economic gathering, where she was expected to participate in discussions surrounding parenting and careers.
What remains unproven is the suggestion that the trip was preparation for Owens to relocate to Russia or move assets outside the United States.
The Daily Mail cited unnamed sources speculating about such a possibility, but Owens denied that she was planning a move and described reports to that effect as false.
There is currently no publicly established evidence showing that Owens intends to relocate permanently to Russia.
Kirk Murder Case Moving Toward Trial
Meanwhile, the actual criminal case surrounding Kirk’s death continues moving toward trial.
Robinson faces aggravated murder along with additional charges involving the discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice, witness tampering and committing a violent offense in the presence of a child.
Prosecutors say Robinson deliberately targeted Kirk during the September 2025 event. Defense attorneys have challenged portions of the prosecution’s evidence and have argued against allowing prosecutors to seek capital punishment.
After months of hearings, Judge Graf determined on September 1 that prosecutors had cleared the probable-cause threshold required to send the case to trial.
Robinson then entered not-guilty pleas.
For Owens, however, the unanswered questions she continues raising have become a major part of her public platform — and, according to the latest report, a growing source of fear for people closest to her.
Her family’s reported message could hardly be more direct: they want her out of the controversy before they believe something happens to her.
I think that she believes that she is so smart.
