Six workers were rushed to the hospital after a frightening accident involving heavy equipment following Ed Sheeran’s massive Detroit concert.

The terrifying incident unfolded late Saturday night at Ford Field, shortly after the 35-year-old superstar wrapped up his one-night Detroit stop on his Loop tour.

Crews were busy dismantling Sheeran’s elaborate stage when a piece of heavy equipment suddenly lost control and slammed into several workers inside the stadium, according to Click on Detroit.

Fire department dispatch audio reportedly described the emergency as a “forklift injury accident.”

The workers were near a ramp inside a vehicle tunnel and were reportedly walking away to take a break when the equipment came barreling toward them.

Six people were struck.

One worker told Click on Detroit that the frightening accident happened so quickly there was almost no time to react.

He was hit in the chest and later admitted to the hospital, where he remained overnight before being released Sunday.

All six injured workers were taken to nearby hospitals.

Two were initially listed with serious injuries, while four others were reported to be in stable condition. Fortunately, none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

One of those hurt was a member of the Ford Field team, according to a stadium spokesperson.

“Ford Field has begun a full review and is cooperating with the appropriate authorities and with the event’s production partners,” the stadium said in a statement.

“Out of respect for the people involved and the integrity of that review, we will not speculate on the cause. We are grateful to the Detroit Fire Department and EMS for their rapid response.”

Officials have not publicly confirmed exactly what piece of equipment struck the workers or what caused it to lose control.

The shocking accident came after Sheeran performed at Ford Field as part of his Loop tour, turning what had been a huge night for thousands of fans into a frightening ordeal for the crew working behind the scenes.
