King Charles is facing explosive claims that Prince Harry’s dramatic return to Britain may have come at a very convenient time for the monarchy.
Harry, 41, and Meghan Markle, 45, have reportedly returned to Britain with their children after spending six years in the United States, instantly putting the Sussexes back at the center of royal attention.
But some royal insiders are questioning the timing.
Their homecoming comes as Charles’ younger brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, 66, remains under investigation following his February arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office connected to his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Now, sources are suggesting Harry and Meghan’s return has provided the Palace with a massive new story capable of pushing the Andrew scandal out of the spotlight.

The insider claimed Charles is now facing speculation that he may have helped encourage the Sussexes’ return because he knew the family reunion would dominate headlines.
“The Sussexes’ homecoming has completely transformed the conversation around the monarchy,” the source said. “Andrew was consuming damaging headlines, and suddenly Harry and Meghan are the biggest royal story again.”
And there is certainly plenty for royal watchers to talk about.
Questions are swirling over whether Harry can truly repair his relationship with his father, whether his bitter feud with Prince William can ever be resolved, where Harry and Meghan will live and whether their return could mark the beginning of a full royal reconciliation.
Another source said all of that attention has had one obvious effect: Andrew is no longer dominating the royal news cycle.
“From a purely reputational perspective, the Sussexes’ return gives the Palace another enormous story for people to discuss,” the insider claimed.
Andrew is reportedly relieved by the shift in attention.
The former Duke of York has been living at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk since leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor after Charles stripped him of his royal titles last year.
Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday in February and later released while remaining under investigation.
He has reportedly continued traveling abroad, including trips to the Cannes and Nice areas of southern France.
Andrew also reportedly turned down an invitation to Balmoral this summer amid claims he increasingly feels like an outsider within the royal family.
Charles addressed the controversy following his brother’s arrest, making it clear that the investigation should continue without interference from the monarchy.
“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” Charles said.
