Rosie O’Donnell is making it crystal clear she wants nothing to do with Jesse Watters.

The comedian erupted after claiming a crew connected to the Fox News primetime host showed up outside her New York City theater and rushed toward her while shouting that Watters wanted to speak with her.

O’Donnell, 64, is currently appearing in the off-Broadway production Common Knowledge at the Daryl Roth Theatre in Manhattan’s Union Square, but the drama apparently wasn’t limited to the stage.

According to O’Donnell, a Fox News crew was waiting when she arrived at the theater on August 5.

“Today, a Fox crew was waiting for me to exit the car — they ran in mass, screaming, ‘JESSE WATTERS WANTS TO TALK TO U,’” O’Donnell wrote alongside a TikTok video about the encounter.

Her response was anything but subtle.

“So what? I have no desire to talk to him or Fox (we lie to Americans) ‘news,’ so say what u need and go the f— away,” she added.

O’Donnell then turned her attention directly to Watters.

“So here’s what I want to say to Jesse Watters and his gang of unruly reporter yellers at the theater today: No, I don’t want to speak or answer a question from Jesse Watters,” she declared.

The former View co-host claimed she doesn’t even watch Watters’ show.

“I’ve never watched Jesse Watters, and I don’t care to, OK?” O’Donnell said. “I’ve read enough about what he’s said about women and who he is and how his career began on Bill O’Reilly’s show, of all places.”

Watters worked his way through the Fox News ranks after serving as a producer for longtime host Bill O’Reilly. He later became known for confrontational field segments on The O’Reilly Factor before landing his own primetime program.

O’Donnell then mocked the apparent attempt to question her outside the theater, insisting Watters should have gone through the normal channels if he really wanted an interview.

“OK Jesse, you do what you do. Stay out of my orbit,” she said. “If you want to interview me, call my publicist. That’s how it works. Don’t you know that yet?”

She finished with one final message for the Fox host.

“I’m not afraid of you,” O’Donnell said. “I just have no interest in you in any capacity.”

The fiery video quickly divided viewers.

Supporters applauded O’Donnell for refusing to engage with the Fox crew.

“Love you Rosie! He’s scared to death of strong women,” one TikTok commenter wrote.

“They messed with the wrong person!! Good for you, Rosie!” another added.

But conservative viewers had a very different reaction after the video spread on X.

“Oh yeah, NOT BOTHERED at all. I am certain Jesse and his staff had a raucous time watching this,” one critic wrote.

Another claimed O’Donnell appeared furious despite insisting Watters didn’t bother her.

“She’s literally shaking with anger while trying to claim that she wasn’t bothered by it!” the person wrote.

The confrontation comes as O’Donnell prepares to wrap up her New York theater run on August 8.

After Donald Trump won a second term in the White House in 2024, O’Donnell moved to Ireland and has repeatedly spoken about her decision to leave the United States.

She hasn’t completely disappeared from American entertainment, however.

Following her summer stay in New York, O’Donnell is scheduled to head to Los Angeles, where she is set to guest-host Jimmy Kimmel Live! for four nights beginning August 17.

And this isn’t the first time Watters and O’Donnell have crossed paths.

Back in 2007, when Watters was still working for O’Reilly, he approached O’Donnell while she was signing copies of her book Celebrity Detox at a Long Island bookstore.

With a cameraman alongside him, Watters began questioning O’Donnell about controversial comments she had made and repeatedly asked why she wouldn’t appear on The O’Reilly Factor.

“This is for Bill O’Reilly. He wants to know if you regret saying 9/11 was an inside job,” Watters asked her, according to Page Six at the time.

O’Donnell refused to give him the explosive confrontation he appeared to be seeking.

Instead, she calmly told Watters that O’Reilly knew how to contact her.

“He knows how to find me,” O’Donnell said. “If Bill wants me, he should phone me himself. He’s a big boy.”

Nearly two decades later, O’Donnell’s position doesn’t appear to have changed much.

If Jesse Watters wants an interview, she says he can call her publicist — but judging by her latest rant, he probably shouldn’t expect her to say yes.
