‘Survivor Greece’ Shut Down After Contestant Nearly Loses Leg in Freak Accident

A terrifying accident has completely shut down production on “Survivor Greece” after a young contestant was reportedly struck by a tourist boat while filming off the coast of the Dominican Republic.

According to reports, 21-year-old contestant Stavros Floros was participating in a spearfishing challenge near Saona Island when disaster suddenly struck. Authorities say Floros was hit by the propellers of a passing tourist boat in a gruesome accident that left cast and crew stunned.

The injuries were catastrophic.

Reports claim Floros suffered a severe injury to his right ankle and partially lost his left leg in the horrifying collision. Emergency crews rushed to help the reality star as filming immediately came to a halt.

The shocking incident has now thrown the entire production into chaos.

Production company AcunMedya confirmed the accident and said an investigation is already underway to determine exactly what happened during filming. The company also revealed Floros is no longer in immediate danger, though doctors are reportedly considering transferring him to a specialized medical center in the United States for further treatment.

A statement posted to the show’s official Facebook page in Greek updated fans on Floros’ condition and thanked supporters for their concern during the unfolding medical emergency.

The accident was reportedly so serious that SKAI Television, the network airing “Survivor Greece,” has suspended broadcasts of the hit competition show indefinitely.

The horrifying ordeal has sparked major questions online about safety conditions during reality competition filming, especially during dangerous water-based challenges filmed near tourist areas.

Fans flooded social media with prayers and messages of support for Floros, with many calling the accident one of the most shocking injuries ever linked to an international version of the “Survivor” franchise.
