Kindergartener and 2 Adults Found Dead Outside Texas High School Football Stadium

A Texas community is reeling after a horrifying burst of gunfire outside a high school football stadium ended with a kindergartener, a woman, and the suspected gunman dead in what police believe was a murder-suicide.

The shocking violence erupted Friday afternoon, March 27, in the parking lot of Birdville ISD Stadium in Haltom City — a place usually filled with school spirit, families, and Friday night excitement. Instead, it became the scene of a heartbreaking tragedy that left a little girl dead and an entire community shattered.

Police say officers raced to the stadium around 4:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire rang out across the parking lot. When they arrived, they found three people — an adult man, an adult woman, and a young female child — suffering from gunshot wounds.

Authorities believe the bloodshed began during a domestic confrontation. According to reports, the man and woman arrived separately in their own vehicles before the situation spiraled into deadly chaos. Investigators say the man opened fire on the woman and the little girl while they were inside a vehicle, then fatally shot himself a short time later.

The child was later identified by district officials as a kindergarten student at Cheney Hills Elementary School, making the horror even more devastating. Her identity has not yet been released publicly, nor have the names of the two adults.

Reports say one victim died at the scene, while another was rushed to a hospital and later succumbed to injuries. The suspected shooter was also taken for treatment but died shortly afterward.

“It’s believed they had some type of family relationship,” Sgt. Rick Alexander of the Haltom City Police Department said, underscoring the deeply personal and tragic nature of the violence.

Birdville ISD released a statement saying it was heartbroken by the tragedy and is working closely with police as the investigation continues. But for many, the pain is almost impossible to process — especially with the loss of a child so young.

What should have been an ordinary Friday near a school stadium turned into an unspeakable nightmare, leaving stunned families, grieving classmates, and a shaken Texas community searching for answers.

The investigation is still ongoing.
