Chuck Norris Climbed Legendary Mountain Peak just Months Before Death

Legendary tough guy Chuck Norris was still conquering mountains — literally — just months before his sudden death at 86.

The action icon, famous for his larger-than-life strength and no-nonsense persona, quietly pulled off one last jaw-dropping feat in September when he hiked to the summit of Lassen Peak — a towering 10,457-foot active volcano in Northern California.

“What a day! I had the pleasure of hiking Lassen Peak once again,” Norris wrote on Instagram at the time, sounding more like a man half his age than someone in his mid-80s.

The grueling trek isn’t for the faint of heart. According to the National Park Service, the round-trip climb spans about five miles and can take up to five hours — with steep inclines and thin air pushing even seasoned hikers to their limits.

But for Norris, it was just another day.

He reflected on returning to the volcano, noting the hike brought back “wonderful memories,” and shared a personal connection — his wife, Gena O’Kelley, grew up in the area.

“I’ll always be grateful she introduced me to such magnificent sight. God bless,” he wrote.

The climb now feels even more surreal in hindsight.

Just 10 days before his death, Norris celebrated his 86th birthday with a defiant message to fans — and a display of his still-intact fighting skills.

“I don’t age,” he declared. “I level up.”

Days later, the Hollywood legend was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Hawaii following a medical emergency. By Friday, his family confirmed his sudden passing, keeping the exact cause under wraps.

Norris leaves behind O’Kelley, their twins Dakota and Danilee, and three adult children from previous relationships.

Online, fans struggled to process the loss of a man who seemed almost indestructible.

“He didn’t die — he just transcended,” one follower wrote.

For a star who built a career on strength, discipline, and myth-like resilience, the idea doesn’t seem that far-fetched.
