Passengers on a routine flight got the surprise of their lives when former President Joe Biden showed up — not on a private jet, not surrounded by spectacle — but sitting among everyday travelers.
And according to one stunned passenger, the moment turned into something no one expected.
Stephania Ergemlidze, a sports content creator, says she found herself seated near Biden on a commercial flight from Philadelphia to Phoenix — and what started as disbelief quickly turned into a personal interaction she says she’ll never forget.
“I was genuinely blown away,” she said. “He was kind, humble… just incredibly gracious with everyone.”

Instead of keeping to himself, Biden reportedly chatted with passengers, smiled, and engaged in conversations like any regular traveler. Ergemlidze said she and her friend ended up speaking with him for about 10 minutes — a moment she didn’t even plan for.

She told him about her trip to Arizona, where she was headed to participate in a celebrity charity basketball event tied to March Madness and the Women’s Final Four. Knowing Biden’s long-known love for basketball, she asked if he’d be attending.
His response? Warm, attentive — and fully engaged.
At one point, Ergemlidze said Biden even asked for her card and listened closely as she explained her work. No handlers cutting things short. No rushed exit. Just a conversation.

That’s when she knew this wasn’t your typical “celebrity sighting.”

And while she admits she rarely posts about meeting public figures, she said this moment felt different.
“I felt like it deserved to be acknowledged,” she said.

“I get it,” she said. “Not everyone is going to like everyone, especially in politics.”
