Roseanne Barr Reveals Heart Issue and ‘Death Fears’

Roseanne Barr is getting brutally honest about her health—and what she says has her genuinely shaken.

The 73-year-old comedian revealed on her podcast that doctors recently told her she has a “damaged” heart, a diagnosis she says left her frustrated, angry, and seriously questioning whether she wants any kind of surgery at all.

“This doctor says I have to go get my heart checked out because it’s damaged,” Barr said. “So now I’m so pissed… I’m like, I need a new doctor.”

But it wasn’t just the diagnosis that rattled her—it was what could come next.

Barr didn’t hold back when talking about her fears, admitting she’s terrified of going under the knife.

“I’m like, why do I have to go find something wrong when nothing’s wrong and then get in shape just so I can have surgery and die on the surgery table?” she said.

In fact, she went even further, revealing she would rather face a sudden medical emergency than go through a planned procedure.

“I would rather not get ready for any sort of surgery ever again… and just, you know, get a heart attack or a stroke and then be put into hospice,” she said.

The candid confession offers a rare glimpse into Barr’s mindset as she navigates aging, health scares, and what she wants the end of her life to look like.

Despite the heavy news, Barr has been embracing a quieter, more grounded lifestyle in Texas—something she recently described as a “dream come true.” But even that peaceful life hasn’t come without its own chaos.

While working on her property, Barr revealed she’s suffered multiple injuries—including a frightening accident involving her tractor.

“I’m mowing, and I don’t clear the trees as good as I should,” she said. “I hit one, and a huge branch fell right on my head and trapped me in the tractor.”

According to Barr, the massive branch—estimated to weigh around 100 pounds—left her stuck and struggling to free herself.

“I had to move it inch by inch for about an hour before I could flip it over,” she said.

It’s just the latest in a string of close calls for the star, who rose from stand-up comedy to become a household name with her hit sitcom Roseanne.

Her career famously took a dramatic turn in 2018 after a controversial tweet led to backlash and the cancellation of the show’s revival. The network moved forward without her, launching the spinoff The Conners.

Barr says that chapter of her life is firmly behind her.

“I don’t talk to any of them,” she said of her former co-stars. “They’re all in the past… I’ve moved on from that horrendous ending.”

Still, she made it clear she hasn’t forgotten how it all went down.

“What fun we had on that show,” she said, before adding bluntly, “They messed it all up.”

Now, Barr appears focused on her health, her land, and her life in Texas—but her latest revelation makes one thing clear: she’s facing the future on her own terms, no matter how uncertain it may be.
