Netflix Boss ‘Unfollows’ Meghan Markle on Instagram

Netflix’s top executive just made a quiet move that’s turning into a very loud message.

Ted Sarandos, the streaming giant’s co-CEO, has unfollowed Meghan Markle on Instagram — and insiders say it’s more than just a social media cleanup. It’s the latest sign that Netflix may be pulling the plug on its once high-profile partnership with Meghan and Prince Harry.

The unfollow didn’t stop there. Sarandos also reportedly ditched Markle’s lifestyle brand account, As Ever, around the same time Netflix began distancing itself from the venture altogether.

The timing raised eyebrows across Hollywood.

Sarandos had been an early supporter of Meghan’s return to social media in 2025, even following her brand when it first launched under its original name, American Riviera Orchard. But now, both he and Netflix’s chief content officer Bela Bajaria have quietly backed away.

One notable exception? Sarandos’ wife, Nicole Avant, still follows Meghan — and sources say the two women remain friendly behind the scenes.

Still, inside Netflix, the mood has reportedly shifted dramatically.

According to insiders, executives have grown increasingly frustrated with the Sussexes, accusing the couple of recycling the same narrative about their royal exit without delivering fresh, compelling content.

One industry source described the situation bluntly: Netflix has become “exhausted.”

The criticism goes beyond content. Behind closed doors, Meghan and Harry are said to have rubbed some executives the wrong way during meetings, with complaints about their approach and expectations.

And then there are the numbers.

Projects like With Love, Meghan reportedly failed to generate the kind of buzz — or viewership — that Netflix had banked on when it signed the couple to a blockbuster deal years ago.

Now, insiders say the once-glamorous partnership is quietly unraveling.

Looking ahead, Meghan appears ready to pivot.

Sources claim she’s preparing to strike out on her own, focusing on building her personal brand and pursuing solo ventures rather than relying on joint projects with Harry.

“There’s a growing realization that going it alone may be the smarter move,” one insider said, adding that Meghan wants full control over her next chapter.

Harry, meanwhile, seems to be heading in a different direction entirely.

Those close to the prince say he’s grown weary of the entertainment world and is stepping back from Hollywood ambitions. Instead, he’s expected to refocus on philanthropy — an area that insiders say feels far more natural to him.

“He gave it a real shot,” one source said. “But it was never truly his world.”

What started as one of Netflix’s most talked-about deals now appears to be fading out — not with a bang, but with a quiet unfollow that’s speaking volumes.

And in Hollywood, that kind of silence can be deafening.
